July 30th, 2016 - Veteran War Memorial (Auburn, WA)

I wish I could say that I knew about this and came prepared. However that was most definitely not the case! I dropped my girlfriend off at work, and headed to Les Grove Park in Auburn, WA.

... For Pokemon, of course.

I was walking around and saw some tents and chairs, and some people gathering so naturally I decided to have a look.

I wound up staying for about 2 - 2 1/2 hours, and I loved it. It was a Veteran War Memorial for Vietnam. There already is a Veteran Memorial (Although it's a lot more generic covering most wars), this was more about both the American and Vietnamese Veterans during the Vietnam War.

It looked like they're going to be putting up a wall with the names of the Veterans on it, similar to the Veteran Memorial Wall in DC. But I believe it's for people that were locals (At least, that's what it sounded like to me) which I think is pretty cool. I honestly would like to see that more for other cities/states.

I got to talk to quite a few other photographers, which is always fun! And just getting to see these veterans was just fantastic.

I really wish I had known about this before hand and brought my tripod. I would've LOVED getting some video of this.

I'd love to do some shoots with more military (Active Duty and Retired) for sure.
